Driving in the blizzard

Driving in the blizzard is really an experience that cant be duplicated, and I did just that, drove in the blizzard last night, and thats an ordeal I want o share with you guys.
The weather channel predicted, that the snow will begin to fall in the morning, and it will be a blizzard this time, and sure enough, around 12, the snow began to fall, slowly first, but it sticks to the ground nonetheless, because of the cold weather. I thought thats it, Ill be staying home tonight, not going anywhere, well, turns out I have to go out, my father decided to come home early, and he chose this night to do so. I got that advance notice at 2, by that time, the snow is coming down like a white blanket already. I looked outside the window, and all I could see was snowflakes, I can usually see the cars that are parked under my window, but this time, its already buried under half feet of snow. I was thinking to myself: great, with weather like this, I will be lucky if I can drive 1 mile without an accident, but my father is coming, so, I gathered up the courage, and heavy clothing, and headed out the door. Its around 7 pm, and the sky is surprisingly lighted, well, maybe not so surprising, because the snow reflected all the lights. The road is slippery to say the least, with such heavy downpour, the snow plow simply cant keep up, and the rock salt, once its on, its buried in seconds. I was so glad I have a SUV at that time, granted, its just an Honda CD-V, but still, it does have 4 wheel drive, I can honestly say I never slipped once during the whole drive, but then again, its mainly because I was just doing 25 mph, and thats on highway. The drive to the airport took me 1 hour, usually its 20 mins, I picked up my dad at the airport,( On a side note, I have to admire these pilots, by the time my dad landed, its an official blizzard, and the pilot landed right on time, with no bumps or skids, I just want to say wow for their skills) Like I said, by that time, its official blizzard, and when Ii was driving, theres simply no way to see the lanes, every car put on their blinkers, and every one kept at least 500 feet separation, its a harrowing experience, the snow is whiting out everything in sight, and its eerily silent on the road, all you can hear is the sound of your own engine, and the crunch of ice under the tire, the snow muffled the other cars noise, and you feel youre the only one alive on the whole road way, like I said, very eerie. The drive back took me 2 hours, and there were at least 5 car accidents on the way, one car in front of me slides right into the ditch, fortunately, because he was so slow, he didnt flip over. Driving in the blizzard is one experience I never want to repeat again, its dangerous, and demands the highest attention, I have an headache just thinking about it.
